I had a fabulous stay at Cottage Lodge Hotel, where the reserved parking was a huge relief. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped, with a good internet connection. I enjoyed the breakfast, although I wished for different egg options. Overall, it was a perfect place to relax and explore the New Forest, but a few additions like canned spirits at the honesty bar would enhance the experience.

8.0/10
Our recent stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. While we loved the beautiful surrounding area and the dog-friendly atmosphere, the dining experience left much to be desired, especially the temperature in the dining room. The service was also lacking, which added to our disappointment. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend this hotel for a winter visit, particularly if you're bringing pets.
Rooms
6.0
The room we stayed in was decent but a bit on the small side, and it felt more like a basic B&B than a boutique hotel. The comfort level was moderate, so I would rate it a 6.
Service
5.0
The service we received was not up to par. We felt ignored during our stay, especially when we made requests regarding heating, which went unaddressed. I'd rate the service a 4.
Location
10.0
The hotel's location was fantastic, nestled in a lovely area with plenty of open spaces for our dogs and scenic walks to enjoy nearby. I would rate the location a perfect 10.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was far from ideal, with the breakfast served in an unwelcoming and chilly space. The food quality was mediocre at best, which is disappointing given the claims of using local ingredients. I would rate dining a 3.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were lacking; there was no bar and the dining area was not inviting, especially during colder months. This aspect was disappointing given our expectations for a boutique hotel, so I'd rate it a 4.

Staying at this charming hotel was a delightful experience. The rooms were spacious, clean, and had a contemporary touch, making it a comfortable retreat. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, setting a great tone for the day. However, the dining area for pets was a bit cramped, and a few areas could use more attention. Overall, I found great value for money and would happily return.

The staff greeted us warmly and made our experience feel special, especially with the beautifully sourced breakfast options. However, there were a few bumps, such as the narrow stairs that made navigating with luggage a bit challenging. Overall, it was a delightful experience with a few minor inconveniences.
